I had been doing this for a while after I decided that saddlebags were the ugliest thing to happen to a tour level race bike. Now, my only three bikes in rotation are 700, 27.5 and 29 wheel sizes. It would be easy enough to put one of each size tube in the kit, but knowing myself, the one time I will actually need the kit will be the day that I forget to throw it into my jersey pocket. This is from a guy that actually rode over 10 miles before realizing he left the house without sunglasses or eye protection of any kind.

No chain breaker? That’s still a good looking bag, with all the gear you manage to get inside of it.

Aero tool jar
Torque ratchet & bits, chainbreaker, knife, tweezers, pliers, quick link, valve core, 2 levers, tpu tube, boot/patches/plugs/cement, der hanger, medical kit, gloves, all in a 3dp-capped aero bottle tool jar mounted under downtube for a low low center of mass handling. Minimalist compared to a workshop?
PS: dynaplug racer, pump, and a Jackson elsewhere in the usual spots. PPS: 472g Last edited by Carbonita; 05-03-2024 at 08:28 AM. |

I use a Specialized Mountain Bandit, which attaches with two screws to the saddle and I stick my TPU spare inside of two black nitrile gloves, so the tube is protected and I have something to keep my hands clean.

I also have the Morimono saddle bag setup like Rides of Japan on YouTube. Super lightweight and holds everything I need. Currently back in stock.
