Gutted. Big Black and Shellac were a big musical touchstone for me when I was young, not even to mention the countless bands he recorded and championed. His views on the music industry and his support for the old-school hardcore DIY ethos was undying and he is truly a rare example of someone who put their principles into practice in everything that he did. He also wrote a bunch of distasteful garbage for MRR back in the day, but I thought he did good by atoning for all that in a real and impactful way later in life.
Will be sorely missed. And on the eve of a tour, no less.
