A vote for for shimano's T8000 pedals. They've lived on my commuter for years and are the best in class; grippy when it needs to be, clips in well and strong.

Who knew this thread would be such a love-fest for the T8000s. My pair is 7 years old and still going strong on my commuter bike. Had to replace a lot of pins over the years but the bearings are still as good as day 1.
The M324 suuuuuck in comparison to the T8000. The M324s were such death traps in the wet that I used to put grip tape on the spindle area. As MTB flat pedals go, the T8000s are pretty bad. Other than the excellent concavity, they're short, narrow, with blunt pins. As commuter pedals they're great: one doesn't need the additional support of a larger platform and the blunt pins help keep from marring soles while still giving enough traction. The use of grub screws for pins means one has to be careful to not let them get too worn before replacing. |
