I didn't consider compatibility with hydraulic shifters as Mortirolo suggested.

But.

I always thought Sram's hydro rim was before its time in that it would suit the whole internal routing thing. As in hydraulic doesn't bat an eyelid at sharp bends.

Back to Mortirolo's comment. Surely some enterprising Chinese manufacturer would be able to put together a hydraulic brake that works with the latest/greatest groups

So I guess the new SRW is not out of line with its retail pricing of $5300….

Good Luck!
For clarity and accuracy, here is the 2024 groupset lineup:

Veloce 10s (no crankset), rim only
Centaur 11, rim only
Chorus 12, rim and disc
Record 12, rim and disc
Super Record 12, rim and disc
Ekar 13, disc only
Ekar 20 (this is an E-bike spec variation on some Ekar parts), disc only
SR EPS, rim and disc
SR WRL, disc only

Wheel range will lose Shamal Ultra and Mille "officially" but in fact both are still available ex-works at this time and are likely to be, for some of this year.

Other than that:

Calima rim only
Scirocco rim or disc
Zonda rim or disc
Shamal Carbon disc
Levante disc
Bora WTO rim or disc, 33. 45. 60
Bora Ultra WTO disc, 33, 45, 60
Hyperon disc
Hyperon Ultra disc
Ghibli & Bora Ultra TT variations (pista and road rim)
Bora Ultra WTO TT disc

Some limited quantities of other wheels also available but are not officially ranged.

They actually continue to make several - HS11, HS22 and HS33.
They used to make the HS77 cited, the RT TT and the rS8, basically an RT TT colab with SRAM.

HS11 and 22 had dedicated drop bar levers but they pre-dated integrated shift - now theose brakes only come with straight bar levers, as do HS33.

All the HS are mineral oil - IIRC, RT TT and rS8 were DOT, don't know about HS77 but I suspect mineral.

Or an Italian manufacturer would be able to put together a hydraulic brake that works with the Campagnolo WRL group.
I mean a hydraulic EE (cane creek) brake would be nice for many many older frame.

Too much. I mean it would be better:

Chorus 11, rim
Chorus 12, rim
Super Record 12, rim
Ekar 13, disc only
Ekar 13 WRL, disc only
Ekar 20 (this is an E-bike spec variation on some Ekar parts), disc only
Chorus WRL, disc + hydraulic rim
SR WRL, disc + hydraulic rim

Wheel:
+ Bora WTO Tubular rim.

Better for whom? I doubt that anyone has better insight into what should comprise their catalog based on the prospect of selling things than Campagnolo. Hydraulic rim

Personally I'd hope to see WRL migrate to Record & Chorus but I suspect they'll continue to harvest the high end until doing that. Failing that I'd love to see Chorus and Record cranksets that include the 45/29 chainring combo available in SR WRL.

Does anyone know where to buy a new set of Shamal Ultras with Campagnolo freehub? I have always wanted a set and seems time is running out...

Not a killer deal but they do appear to have stock:

https://www.texascyclesport.com/camp...-rim-wheelset/

(edit: those are clinchers, but they also have the two-way fit option for a few bucks more; Campy FHB is the default; Mille are out of stock there)

Campagnolo Team at Giro

Campagnolo is not totally out of World Tour competition this year.

VF Group Bardiani- CSF Faizanè a second tier (Continental?) team is participating in the Giro this year. They were selected as a wild card team.

I believe they are using the latest Record group.

They have been doing quite well this season except maybe Pozovivo who seems to be channeling Primoz.

Thanks so much for the clarification! Part of the confusion bordering on panic was that earlier in the year the Campagnolo website did not display any mechanical/rim options in Super Record, and distributors claimed that option was no longer available.

As a “vintage” cyclist who started racing in the Nuovo Record era, it is heartening to see continued support of mechanical shift/rim brake options in the upper tier groupsets. I couldn’t afford more than a Campy derailleur when I was racing, but got into the Super Record group in the mid ’80’s and have enjoyed the reliability and style ever since. I don’t have a need for electronic shifting and disc brakes on the road, so it is great to see that I can build up a new frame with SR gear today. It is not inexpensive, but never was. But something about the Campy machining (or perhaps mystique) makes it so much more rewarding to me when I build up a frame with Chorus/Record/SR instead of Shimano/SunTour/Simplex (I haven’t tried SRAM).

It does occur to me that Campy might do well to get some incentive program going in the amateur racing categories, similar to what tire and equipment manufactures do in auto and motorcycle racing, just to get some grass-roots awareness of their products in the younger generation.
