But. I always thought Sram's hydro rim was before its time in that it would suit the whole internal routing thing. As in hydraulic doesn't bat an eyelid at sharp bends. Back to Mortirolo's comment. Surely some enterprising Chinese manufacturer would be able to put together a hydraulic brake that works with the latest/greatest groups |

They used to make the HS77 cited, the RT TT and the rS8, basically an RT TT colab with SRAM. HS11 and 22 had dedicated drop bar levers but they pre-dated integrated shift - now theose brakes only come with straight bar levers, as do HS33. All the HS are mineral oil - IIRC, RT TT and rS8 were DOT, don't know about HS77 but I suspect mineral. |

I mean a hydraulic EE (cane creek) brake would be nice for many many older frame. |

Personally I'd hope to see WRL migrate to Record & Chorus but I suspect they'll continue to harvest the high end until doing that. Failing that I'd love to see Chorus and Record cranksets that include the 45/29 chainring combo available in SR WRL. |

Does anyone know where to buy a new set of Shamal Ultras with Campagnolo freehub? I have always wanted a set and seems time is running out...

https://www.texascyclesport.com/camp...-rim-wheelset/ (edit: those are clinchers, but they also have the two-way fit option for a few bucks more; Campy FHB is the default; Mille are out of stock there) |

Campagnolo Team at Giro
Campagnolo is not totally out of World Tour competition this year.
VF Group Bardiani- CSF Faizanè a second tier (Continental?) team is participating in the Giro this year. They were selected as a wild card team. I believe they are using the latest Record group. |

As a “vintage” cyclist who started racing in the Nuovo Record era, it is heartening to see continued support of mechanical shift/rim brake options in the upper tier groupsets. I couldn’t afford more than a Campy derailleur when I was racing, but got into the Super Record group in the mid ’80’s and have enjoyed the reliability and style ever since. I don’t have a need for electronic shifting and disc brakes on the road, so it is great to see that I can build up a new frame with SR gear today. It is not inexpensive, but never was. But something about the Campy machining (or perhaps mystique) makes it so much more rewarding to me when I build up a frame with Chorus/Record/SR instead of Shimano/SunTour/Simplex (I haven’t tried SRAM). It does occur to me that Campy might do well to get some incentive program going in the amateur racing categories, similar to what tire and equipment manufactures do in auto and motorcycle racing, just to get some grass-roots awareness of their products in the younger generation.
